Heliski day in Valgrisenche

A regular customer, a manager from the USA, booked a heli-ski tour in Valgrisenche, one of the top heliskiing destinations in the Alps. Since this customer preferred to combine his business appointments with the ski event in Europe, the ski days could only take place in a precisely defined time window. This is a special challenge, because at such events you are very dependent on flight weather, stable snow conditions and good snow quality.

That is why every event planning is always accompanied by a well-thought-out alternative plan, which, depending on the situation, provides alternative ski tours, the use of local ski areas for variant skiing or a change of heliskiing spot.
Depending on the situation, changes can then be adequately responded to and the available timeframe may be efficiently used.

 

I organized the equipment for the customer in advance, because they did not want to carry ski luggage with them along their business trip. However, the customer has stored an equipment set in St. Moritz. I picked this up in advance and made it available accordingly.

The organization of the heliskiing event was completed days before the scheduled date. As part of my security concept, I always get information about local conditions and security-related processes directly on site from official bodies and local mountain guides.
Annual safety training for me, directly at the helicopter company, is also part of the concept, as well as safety training together with my customers at beginning of each event.

The more reliable the weather reports for the event became, the more detailed I could determine alternative tour plans. But the weather forecast was good, the snow was stable, the conditions were perfect – and they stayed that way!
We arrived at the helicopter’s launch site on time at 9 a.m. After the daily security check, the equipment check and the briefing, we started our first flight.
I am traveling exclusively with my customer and can make my own decisions in coordination with the lead guide and respond very flexibly to customer requests.

In the meantime, the customer books a heli ski tour annually with me. Further he would like to be active in the touring area under my guidance in the future.
